For the first week of March 2016 - we pick a funny and light vid uploaded by Dr.240252 on Feb.26-2016 - titled - "Chor Dana (Dan's Choir) - Three Little Pigs + Yuba Plays a Rhumba on a Tuba."
Dan's Choir was a four men musical Warsaw group of talented musicians/singers - enormously popular in Warsaw circa 1933 who were performing and arranging tons of the international hits of the day. They were a super gifted group with some of their musical covers' arrangements - surpassing the originals.
Warsaw was a huge cultural center - another Paris of Eastern Europe during the 1930's. I mentioned before that all that glorious activity was shattered by Hitler's massive attack on Poland in Sept. 1939.
Dr. 240252 presents a short double musical feature - 2 minutes each - consisting of Walt Disney's musical piece "Three Little Pigs" - loved by everybody aged 3 through 103 with the second one being "Yuba Plays a Rumba on a Tuba" - a popular and funky international piece. Dan's Choir does a superbly good musical job on those tunes - however - the funky artwork by 240252 looks excellent - as always.
Have a good first week of March 2016 - everybody! The spring is close! We meet again next week - same place - same channel!

For the Last Week of February - we choose - Williams-Sonoma - Gourmet Shop - Walnut St. - Shadyside - Pittsburgh, Pa. 15232.
This weekend - Sun. Feb. 28 - 2016 - at noon - the Sunday technique class will feature the demonstration of some Thai cooking which features a lot of vegetables - lightly cooked or raw.
On Feb. 7 - 2016 - Shadyside's Williams Sonoma had their Sunday technique featuring spring rolls full of raw vegetable wrapped in thin, "see-through" dough sheets. Alice - the very capable and fun - instructor asked all of us - about ten participants - to roll our own spring roll.
The "hands-on" demonstrations present a very effective and fun way to participate in any technique instructions. All of us - who come to Williams-Sonoma Sunday sessions - agreed that "hands-on" is the most fun way to demonstrate various exotic dishes.
Long story - short - this coming Sunday - on the 28th of February - 2016 - we will concentrate on a classic Thai dish Pad Thai - we will also prepare crisp lettuce cups filled with stir-fried chicken.
Every month the store's Sunday technique sessions - emphasize a different region or a country in terms of culinary adventures.
If you have any questions you can call Williams-Sonoma store - Shadyside - 412 - 688 - 9220.
See you Sunday!

Our Choice for the Youtube Video of the Week for the last week of Feb.2016 - Feb.22 through Feb.29-2016!
For this last week of Feb. 2016 - we choose a vid uploaded by Dr. 240252 on Feb.21 - 2016 - titled "Jealously - Tango". The Dutch composer of this Tango - Jaacob Jade - was a minor musician with some insignificant compositions to his name until in his mid life - during the late 1920's - he suddenly caught a proverbial "lightening in the bottle" and came up with this Tango which made him - right away - an internationally famous celebrity.
The Tango "Jealousy" - immediately became widely performed all over the world - in various arrangements - as the highly dramatic vocals as well as the instrumentals. The Tango dancers started to dance it - as if there was no "tomorrow".
After you read Dr.240252 commentary - as well as those of other people commenting on this vid - you will learn about the famous band leaders and arrangers working with this famous Tango which is loved by all kinds of Tango enthusiasts. I - myself - danced it many times in various studios - normally with the studio owners or dance teachers - not boasting or anything like that - mind you.
The only minor drawback of this Tango is the slow, high drama - short beginning of this piece during which the dancers should not make faces but concentrate on the coming dance moves.
At any rate - have a good last week of February 2016 - everybody! The winter is coming to the end - spring will be here soon! We shall meet here a week from today - same channel - same time.

Our Choice for the Youtube Video of the Week for Feb.14 - Feb.22 - 2016. The third week of Feb.2016!
Our choice for this Valentine week of February 2016 is a classy, jazzy tune by Bert Lown famous orchestra - with the masterful vocals by their steady famous vocalist - Elmer Feldkamp - titled Alone in the Corner - from the 1930's - uploaded on Feb. 12 - 2016 by Dr.240252. The talented vocalist featured - died young of heart failure while only in his late thirties - luckily - he recorded quite a few jazz sides so he can live on YouTube.
The sparkling visuals highlight the famous movie idols projecting their lonely but hilarious - images - confirming the notion - about the famous movie stars also feeling "alone" - at times even if they were adored by millions of fans.
This time of the year - while various media outlets - fueled by the prospect of extra sales - bombard us with the yearly "Valentine" holiday - messages - some creative - some "phoney-baloney" - it's refreshing to reflect upon some forms of loneliness which happen to all of us.
Famous and accomplished people feel that way - as much as anybody - but it's not the "end of the world" to feel lonely - at times. It makes one appreciate the good times with friends of all kinds.
At any rate - in spite of the cold February spats - the spring is coming! Have a great third week of February - great Valentine Day - week -and don't forget to click here for the Video of the week - on Feb. 22 or a few days before!
