For the 1st week of Apr. 2018 - we picked a charming video uploaded by genia106 - our witty New York City friend on Aug.12 - 2012 - titled "Media Luz Tango - Julio Iglesias". Iglesias had a tremendously successful disk of various Tangos published in 1995 which sold in the millions all over the world - titled "Tango" in which he masterfully performed most of the well-loved and popular Tango classics with no less excellent accompaniment of a top-notch Tango orchestra. After that colossal success - Julio Iglesias suffered a bout with skin cancer which he conquered but in the interim - his son - also a singer - Enrique Iglesias has become famous with a younger crowd of fans so the family tradition of the superstars - continues.
Actually, this video combines three very popular Tangos: "Media Luz" (Midnight)", "El Choclo (An Ear of Corn [Phallic symbol])" and "La Cumparsita (A Small Street Band)" - arguably - the most famous Tango in the world. Genia 106 picked a lot of terrific visuals/shots for various spirits of Tango - she presents.

Our Choice for YT Video of the Wk for the 4th Wk of March 2018 - "Gutfeld on Hillary's Catastrophic Speech in India."
For the last week of March 2018 - we chose a funny video/commentary posted on March 13 - 2018 by Fox News titled: "Gutfeld on Hillary's Catastrophic Speech in India". It's a funny commentary by Gutfeld - a gifted stand up political comediant/commentator - popular with Fox News viewers. He looks funny so he makes a good use of his unconventional features plus his material is delivered in an effective manner - most of the time.
The political comments of the rest of the Fox News commentators - are uneventful in this clip except for Juan Williams'es contribution which invariably provokes a lot of negative viewers' reactions; he is an African American Liberal voice - "a devil's advocate" - with an opposition opinion. In this clip as well as in most others - the majority of the viewers seem to strongly dislike his comments and his style. I know that he reads all the viewers' commentaries even if he denies doing that.
One time quite a while ago - Juan Williams dyed his black hair - reddish - since he is gray. The viewers immediately commented that he looks like an orangutan with that freshly dyed - red hair. The next day - Juan's hair was dyed back - black the way it was before. Unfortunately - most of the viewers' comments still ran - negative - the way a prevailing numbers of them do - most of the time. Maybe he needs to get a hint or something.
Anyway - all of us will all have a very excellent last week of March 2018 which surprized all of us here in the mountainous area of New York - with tons of snow instead of a nice first day of spring 2018. Fortunately - the light and puffy snow is melting very fast so tomorrow - nobody will be sliding down the hills. YT Video of the Wk for the 3rd Wk of March 2018 - "Antonio Banderas-Angelina Jolie-Original Sin-A Media Luz."
For the third week of March 2018 - we chose the following interesting video/Tango uploaded by Genia 106 - our sophisticated and funny New York friend: "Antonio Banderas-Angelina Jolie-Original Sin-A Media Luz" which she uploaded on March 11 - 2018.
The Tango "A Media Luz" (Midnight)" is a lovely classic - an enormously popular piece - still played all over the world - is "spliced" by Genia with the visuals/shots of Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie taken from the movie "Original Sin" which was popular twenty or so years - ago. Angelina Jolie was married at that time to Billy Joe Thornton - with that marriage not lasting more than several years - while Antonio Banderas just wed Melanie Griffin who gave birth to their daughter Stella - his only child with Melanie Griffith who has had several much older children from her previous marriage to Don Johnson.

You will find a familiar YT nickname among the funny comments - not boasting or anything like that - mind you.

Our Choice of YT Vid of the Wk for the 2nd Wk of March 2018 - "Idiots React to Trump's State of the Union".
For the second week of March 2018 we chose a video by Joseph Paul Watson uploaded on Jan. 31-2018 titled "Idiots React to Trumps's State of the Union". It demonstrates the "peculiar" behavior of the U.S. top Democratic party leaders during the State of the Union address. It needs to be noted that the Dems attempted to "anoint" their next Democratic Presidential candidate by choosing the rising star of the U.S. liberal/Socialistic leaning politics - Joe Kennedy III - the great grandson of the late John Kenndy - to deliver a rebuttal to Pres. Trump's State of the Union Speech.
Unfortunately, due to Joe's Kennedy III's - monotonous, boring, tedious delivery of a short, political rebuttal speech - which fell flat on its butt with a loud thump or went over like a heavy, led balloon in the proverbial "punch bowl" at the party - he disqualified himself from running as a Democratic party's presidential candidate in 2020 - according to his recent statement. Not to rub it in or anything like that - his Chapstick was all over his chin and on the outside of his lips - so he looked ridiculous - not to say anything derogatory - mind you. Even though he is a good-looking guy - in this case - his movie star looks didn't help any - during this significant political incident - debacle.

It's a small wonder that he received an avalanche of derisive comments on YouTube and other public forums. Social media reactions can be cruel and - at times - not the fairest phenomena in the world. Some of those commentators were bringing up the scandalous episode from his great uncle's life - the late Ted Kennedy's (a long time Massachusetts senator, another wealthy political liberal/Socialistic leaning - scion's) life - in which he - allegedly - left to die at the bottom of the Lake Chappaquiddick - his alleged lover with whom he - reportedly - had an extra marital affair - a young woman - Mary Jo Kopechne - with whom he was driving from the party in the middle of the summer night.
Subsequent to their car crashing into the Lake Chappaquiddick in the mysterious manner - Ted left her inside his car at the bottom of the lake while he waited for - at least - ten hours to notify the police - after he crawled out of the lake - followed - by his alleged - swimming for many miles to reach the shore.
Even with the Socialistic leaning American press being extremely generous to Ted Kennedy in their reporting of this scandalous incident - still his U.S. presidential aspirations - got permanently buried with the burial of young woman - Mary Jo Kopechne. He remained the liberal/Socialistic leaning senator from Massachusetts for the duration of his long political career - while no doubt - his inherited forty million dollars - never hurt his political endeavors and dealings with his political enemies. The movie "Chappaquiddick" was not possible to be made until almost fifty years passed after that horrible accident.

YT Vid of the Wk - 1st Wk of March 2018 - "Polish Tango 1932 - Adam Aston - Idz, nie Wracaj (Go! Don't Come Back!)"
For the first week of March 2018 - as our choice of Youtube Video of the Week - we chose a great sounding Polish Tango uploaded by our friend Dr. 240252 on Feb. 28 - 2018 - titled "Polish Tango 1932 - Adam Aston - Idz, nie Wracaj (Go! Don't Come Back!)". The vocals are handled superbly by Adam Aston - one of the masters of skillful, understated delivery of - normally - highly dramatic Tango lyrics. The work was composed by Henry Wars - a popular Polish/Jewish Tango composer in Warsaw circa 1930 to 1939 - a golden time for Tangos and other prominent and popular - musical pieces and outstanding art of various kinds.
The lyrics written by Andrzej Wlast - simply dazzle with their poetic simplicity. In addition to being a well-known lyricist - Wlast was also enormously popular - as a producer of many successful cabaret shows in Warsaw. Being famous and well received by the public - he was also frequently attacked by a lot of talentless, jealous literary "hyenas" and "vultures" who gave him a nickname - "A King of Kitsch". I know for a fact that every enormously successful individual - pays a price.

Our Choice of YT Vid of the Wk for the 4th Wk of Feb.2018 - "Moulin Rouge-Ewan McGregor-Nature Boy-John Leguizamo".
For the last week of Fabruary 2018 - we chose a terrific video uploaded by Genia 106 on Feb. 18 - 2018; she is a smart New Yorker who comes up with great ideas for snazzy and fun videos. This one features Ewan McGregor - a handsome and talented British star who sings a lovely Nat King Cole hit titled "Nature Boy" - in the new version of the movie "Moulin Rouge" from 2001 - about Henri Toulouse-Lutrec - a famous Parisian, late nineteenth century painter/poster maker.
Buzz Luhrman - a director of this version introduced some famous musical hits as well as some modern choreography. A lot of people either hated or loved his take on Toulouse-Lutrec's life. I would lean towards the first category - however the musical selections alone from this 2001 film - are worth the price of the ticket.
I - personally - liked the old, classical version of the movie treating Henri Toulouse-Lutrec's life with Jose Ferrer playing the famous Parisian artist. It has to be noted that Toulouse-Lutrec's life was handicapped in every meaning of that word since he was born with grotesquely short legs which made this sensitive artist - miserable for the first half of his life.
However his life was turned around 360 degrees after his famous Parisian posters made him famous all over the world. "Moulin Rouge" a Parisian Cabaret welcomed him every night as a loved Parisian celebrity - with all the famous, beautiful artists - "eating out of his hand" every night.

Our Choice of YT Vid of the Wk for 3rd Wk of Feb.2018 - "Tango - Lo Han Visto con Otra - 1929".
We continue with chanson - a genre - which mostly tells a love story of some kind - most of the time it has a sad, tragic mood. For the third week of Feb. 2018 we chose a lovely Tango - composed by a less known Argentinian composer H.G. Pettorosi - uploaded by Dr.240252 on Feb. 09 - 2018 titled "Tango - Lo Han Visto Con Otra - 1929". The title could be easily translated to "They Saw Him with Another Woman" which speaks to a heartbreak of some unknown woman in love. The vocalist Teresa Asprella does a magnificent job with her phrasing to emphasize her strong, dramatic alto vocals. The Tango orchestra Bianco Biachicha's instrumental arrangement sounds super good without "dimming" her great delivery of the lyrics.
Dr.240252 gives us some short info about Teresa's Asprella short - probably - tragic to a great extent - life - since she was only fifty when she died of a prolonged disease of unknown/unspecified - nature - after recording several Tango hits - this one "Lo Han Visto con Otra" - being one of them.
