For this Thanksgiving 2017 - week - we chose a Thanksgiving 2009 - Video uploaded by Dr. 240252 on Nov. 20 - 2009 - titled "Tango Aus Berlin-Eric Harden Tanz Orchestra - 1930". The composer of this Tango - Ludwig Schmidseder came up with several well-known German Tangos in the 1930's - but he was also famous for playing a huge instrument resembling a church organ - it looks like a gigantic clavicord with many keyboards.
The lyrics were penned by a less well-known lyricist - Ralph Siegel. The Eric Harden Orchestra's arrangement - keeps an even, ten beat measure - perfect for dancing. The vocals are brief - frequently done that way in German Tangos - they call them "Refreingesungen".
After you read the condensed comments under this video - your will notice how meaningful they sound - especially the one by yours truly - the editor of this column. I thought for a while of how my life has changed since that memorable Thanksgiving 2009. It got much better - for sure - which is always terrific - even if eight years ago - things were also interesting and fun - but in a different manner. One has to have a positive outlook on life's changes but at times it requires some "positive spinning".
At any rate - have a great Thangsgiving Weekend 2017 - everybody! Don't forget to click here next week to check on our choice of YT Video of the Week for next week and as always - continue clicking on our YT website - tango3721 - thanks whole bunch!
