Our Commentary of the Week - from Fri. Feb. 03 - 2023 through Fri. Feb. 10 - 2023!

For this icy windy, cold week of February - we will comment upon the huge "hoopla" staged by the U.S. Mainstream Media about the death of Tyre Nichols - a young Black motorist who resisted arrest and was mistreated by 5 black police officers - currently charged with 2nd degree murder in Memphis, Tennessee. In the meantime - many Progressive/Leftist politicians are using this incident to further their political goals of attacking the U.S. police.

This propaganda political activities by the U.S. Leftists are reminiscent to their Summer 2020 campaign - the one which provoked long Summer 2020 violent anti-police riots plus massive looting - during which tons of government buildings were destroyed as well as several innocent lives were lost due to the excesses of the U.S. Marxists/Black Lives Matter - elements - pursuant to the police killing George Floyd - another hoodlum - who resisted arrest and should have known better than acting in a stupid/risky - fashion towards the police.

It needs to be noted that after Floyd's death - his family was invited to Pres. Joe Biden's White House which begs the question: where is his invitation to the families of the policemen who died that year - in the line of duty - trying to protect the people they served?

At any rate - everybody will have a super good new week and we shall meet here a week from today - like every week!

Our Commentary of the Week - from Fri. Jan. 27 - 2023 till Fri. Feb. 03 - 2023!

For this coming - very soon - week - the week of the fat groundhog - "Punxsutawney Phil" - seeing his shadow (less winter left this season) - on Feb. 02 - 2023 - during a yearly ceremony - in Punxsutawney - Pennsylvania - we shall comment onto the well-known among the political commentators/columnist - for "Washington Examiner" and "Wall Street Journal" - Salena Zito. She - actually was employed by the Pittsburgh newspaper - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for a while - before she hit the "greener pastures".

In any event - we like her style and political positions. She also contributes to "New York Post" as well. All the - aforementioned - newspapers - and others as well - like "Wall Street Journal" - have wide circulations - online and otherwise - are the answers to "New York Times" and its clones/papers which - openly - propagate for American and International - Leftist/Progressive/Socialist Political agenda's - planks. All the Lefties/Clones papers - repeat/parrot - the "New York Times's" - Leftist political drumbeat.

If you enter her website - salenazito.com - it will take you to her weekly columns for "Washington Examiner" which will teach you and inform you as well as entertain you.

Everybody will have a very good new week - and we shall meet here a week from today - as every week!

Our Commentary of the Week - from Fri. Jan. 20 - 2023 till Fri. Jan. 27 - 2023!

For this rainy for now - but promising to be snowy - very soon - week of January 23 - we will comment upon the very recent change in the Speakership of the U.S. House of Representatives for the new 118 U.S. Congress which will last two years - until the new elections.

To make a long story - short - the last Speaker which maintained that powerful position (2nd only to the U.S. Presidency) was a Democrat Nancy Pelosi of California - a position she held - on an off - close to 16 years - way too long. Her speaker's years were marked by her many dictatorial rules and moves - she helped to institute.

The U.S. House of Representatives (close to 432 members - based on U.S. population) is the lower chamber of the U.S. Congress (the highest U.S. legislative institution which - usually - trumps - the individual states' - legislatures).

The higher chamber of the U.S. Congress is the U.S. Senate which is a much smaller in size legislative body - (2 senators from each state without the consideration of the size of the state - or about 100 members); it's a less powerful legislative chamber than the House of Representatives - even if it appears more prestigious and glamorous.

Both of those chambers are two parts of the U.S. Congress with the lower chamber - the U.S. House of Representatives elected every two years - thus - currently - we just elected 118th Congress members - mostly Republicans - for two years - while the U.S. senators are elected for 6 years.

In many ways - the lower chamber - the House of Representatives - is much more powerful than the Senate since it has the power of the purse - thus it funds any programs which they approve or not. The new legislative pieces have to be voted on by powerful committees in the House of Representatives - first - before "they go anywhere further".

The aforementioned powerful House of Representatives' committees - now - with the Republicans in charge - are - currently - arranged by the new Republican speaker Kevin McCarthy of California - who just "got the gavel" and had to change many rules - under pressure of his ultra conservative members.

The powerful position of the speaker of the U.S. House of the Representatives - is voted on by the members of the U.S. Congress (the lower chamber) and the U.S Senate - (the higher chamber) - and not by the population.

Kevin McCarthy just instituted new rules with his new Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives - for the new 118th Congress. His speakership is much more democratic - but some say - much weaker - than Nancy Pelosi's.

In any event - not to say anything derogatory or anything like that - but Nancy Pelosi - needed to go. She was an "embalmed deity" - frequently - resembling - a despot - close to 90 years old - whereas - the new speaker - Kevin McCarthy - is only 58 years old - a "youngster" with good looks.

It's not like we are looking at those things - but if I wasn't "spoken for" - we would suggest that - he could eat crackers in many attractive women's beds - if he wasn't married - as well - that is - for sure.

At any rate - everybody will have a super good new week and we shall meet here - next week like every week.

Our Commentary of the Week - from Fri. Jan. 13 - 2023 through Fri. Jan. 20 - 2023!

For this cold, wintery week with some snowflakes swishing around - we will comment upon a couple of steady commentators/pundits who appear every Friday during the nightly PBS - "News Hour" that is Leftist biased. We -usually - focus on the - equally - Leftist slanted - half hour of "Washington Week in Review" which - as we mentioned last week - is an "offshoot" of PBS's "News Hour's" nightly broadcast. "Washington Week in Review" focuses - mainly - on the events going on in Washington, D.C.

In any event - Jonathan Capehart is a supposed Liberal/Leftist - counter opinion to an alleged - Conservative - David Brooks. It's not as if we criticize anybody's appearance but Capehart looks like a big, fat woodpecker which can be a beautiful bird - for certain; they are useful - for sure - as they poke the trees' barks - for bugs.

Anyway - Capehart's weekly commentaries' partner - David Brooks frequently claims that he "was a Republican" in the near past - currently - however - he calls himself "just an independent observer of a present political scene".

It would be presumptuous to claim that those two are engaging/interesting to any extent - in another words - both of them are propagandists for the Leftists/Progressives even if - at times - occasionally - we agree with their ideological analysis. Most of the time - however - it's much better to check out a variety of political commentators - especially this week during which a newly elected Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives - attempts to nominate a powerful position of a Speaker of the House of Representatives for the new - 118th U.S Congress. Only the representatives vote for this important position - not the general public which would make it a "mob rule".

Important note: Kevin McCarthy was - finally - elected by the members of the U.S. House of Representatives - a Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives for the new - 118th U.S. Congress which lasts - 2 years. It happened - after an unprecedented - 15 rounds of voting.

Everybody will have a super good second week of New Year - 2023 and we shall meet here - a week from today!
